1 / Do I need a reservation?

Reservations are strongly encouraged, especially on weekends and holidays.

2 / Do you offer vegetarian or gluten-free options?

Yes, our menu includes vegetarian and gluten-free selections. Please let your server know of any dietary restrictions.

4 / Can you accommodate large groups?

For parties of 10 or more, please email us at dinner@friedgreen.com to arrange private dining.

5 / Do you provide boosters or highchairs?

No, we do not provide boosters or highchairs.

6 / Where can I park?

Street parking is available throughout downtown Galena.

7 / Is there a dress code?

While we have no formal dress code and welcome guests in whatever attire they feel most comfortable.

8 / What credit cards do you accept?

Our restaurant accepts most major credit cards, including VISA, Master Card, American Express & Discover.  

9 / Do you accept reservations for large parties?

Our restaurants can accommodate large parties of varying sizes - room rental fee may apply. If the online reservation tool is not able to accommodate your party’s size, please contact the restaurant directly via email  (dinner@friedgreen.com) to inquire about a larger reservation and private dining capabilities in our upstairs dining facilities.

10 / Can you accommodate guests with dietary restrictions, including vegetarians and those with specific food allergies or someone who might be on a special diet? 

es, our chefs will do their very best to accommodate specific requests regarding food allergies and other dietary restrictions. Feel free to call the restaurant in advance to inquire about your specific needs. Once in the restaurant, please let your server know exactly what your needs are as well, so that they can be clearly communicated with the kitchen staff.

11 / What holidays are you open?

Please check our website for information.  Currently we will be closed – Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so our employees can enjoy time with their families.

12 / Are you pet friendly?

​No, due to Illinois State Laws and Health Codes, we are not permitted to allow pets into our restaurant.  These restrictions do not apply to service animals which are ADA approved.

13 / Can I bring in a cake or desserts for my party?

For those guests who would prefer to bring in an outside cake, cupcakes, or any other desserts, there will be an additional charge of $3 fee per person.

14 / Do you do anything special for guests celebrating birthdays or special occasions?

Yes, please let your server know and a dessert will be presented.  We do offer Big Martini birthday/special occasion ice cream for $25 - this dessert is usually enough for a table of 6-8 people to get a sampling.

14 / Do you allow your customers to bring in their own wine?  And what is the corkage fee?

We do allow our guests to bring in their own wine.  Corkage fee is $15 per 750ml size bottle.

15 / Is there an elevator?

We are a historic multi-level dining facility; we do not have an elevator.

16 / Do you offer transportation?

We do not. However, we recommend The General’s Express, serving the entire Galena area with dependable, on-time service since 2021. Whether for corporate groups or private gatherings, they make getting to and from your celebration easy. Text or Call: 815-275-5546

17 / Is there a separate area for preparing allergen-free food?

Our kitchen is a shared space. We do not have completely separate, sealed preparation areas for allergens. For allergy requests, our staff follows strict cross-contact prevention procedures, such as using separate, sanitized cutting boards and fresh gloves. However, we cannot eliminate the risk of airborne allergens or trace cross-contact."
